Keith Daniel (Keithie D.) has spent his whole life trying to turn teenagers and young adults onto the joys of music, including five years of teaching at Assumption College and 30 years at Concord Academy. His earliest memory is of singing “Goodnight, Irene” on the swings in his back yard in the Bronx. From there, it was but a hop, skip and jump to singing with the Concord Chorus, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and the Masterworks Chorale, where he was also Assistant Conductor. Keith was suckered into Custom Blend by his then-new friends from the local community theater scene, with whom he had appeared in “1776”, “Camelot” and “The Secret Garden.” Upon retiring, Keith and his artist wife, Robyn, moved to Warren, RI, but he could neither give up Custom Blend, his greatest musical joy, nor teaching, as he offers a course each spring to seniors through The Village University in Concord. He also writes original musicals (www.bogproductionsinc.weebly.com) and is the chief arranger for Custom Blend.
Tom Ryder “Custom Blend is the realization of a lifelong dream for me. I have always loved singing, performing the wonderful harmonies of a cappella music.” Custom Blend is as the name implies; a wonderful amalgam of great voices but more importantly its a group of great friends who are tons of fun to be with. Our weekly rehearsal is the highlight of my week. Tom Ryder lives in Acton, Ma with his fabulous wife Sherry. Between them they have five kids and seven wonderful grandchildren. Tom is an award winning television producer/director/writer/editor. Currently he puts his creative skills to work as the Creative Director of the Harvard Business School’s Educational Technology Group. His real passions are singing, performing in community theater, all things creative, but most of all… his wife Sherry.
Bernie Franc: "Bernie comes from a musical family where he began singing and playing piano at age 5. His diverse musical repertoire includes opera, classical, Broadway musicals, religious music ministry, rock, jazz, and pop. He met his wife, Laura, in the same college performance choir (Allegheny) as Tedford and Cal Armistead and so is especially delighted to be reunited with them in Custom Blend. Bernie is currently the Director of Music at Bethany Congregational church in Foxboro, MA where, in his "spare time", he manages his own specialty chemical business. He and Laura are blessed with 4 amazing kids.
